Annapurna poonhill sunrise trek
Annapurna Poonhill sunrise trek is another easy and exhilarating trekking route in the Annapurna area. Trekkers will walk along yellow and greenish paddy field, Rhododendron forest, with view of silver mountains making it look like a canvas splashed with colors ready to be captured by the eyes and cherished forever. They will also trek to Ghandruk and know the culture and tradition of Gurung people who will greet them with heartwarming smiles.
This trek is ideal for families who are travel enthusiasts but cannot take up challenging treks due to their kids but wants to show their kids the wonder of nature- the giant and modest mountains.
Day 01: Arrive At Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by one of our representatives. You can arrive in Kathmandu at any time. He will help you get transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu and will also explain further plans and programs to you. Since you have nothing else planned for the day, you can check into your hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 02:: Kathmandu To Pokhara (910m/2,984ft), Duration: 6 Hours
A 6 hours drive to the lake side city of Pokhara will be done today. The journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara is very beautiful and you can view sights of jaded hills and rivers along the way. Sights of distant mountain peaks, terrace farms, small settlements and villages and road-side markets can also be seen. Upon arriving at Pokhara, you can look at panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, the Lamjung Himal and Machhapuchhre among others. You can sightsee at Pokhara as well, ride on a boat on the Phewa Lake or relax at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Pokhara. Breakfast included.
Day 03: Pokhara To Tikhedhunga (1,570m/5,150ft), Duration: 4 Hours
From Pokhara, the trekking trail further opens out to the village of Tikhe Dhunga. It takes approximately 4 hours of hiking to reach Tikhe Dhunga from Pokhara. The trekking trail goes through beautiful villages and hills. The Bhurungdi River and the Modi Khola decorate the land and the path runs alongside them to first reach the village of Birethanti. Beautiful rhododendron trees line the hills and the landscape is quite beautiful. Crossing the river, the trekking trail finally reaches the celebrated village of Tikhe Dhunga. Day 04: Tikhedhunga To Ghorepani (2,850m/9,348ft), Duration: 7 Hours
Departing Tikhe Dhunga, the trekking trail passes along a demanding terrain to reach the village of Ghorepani. The Magar village of Ulleri also makes its appearance along the way. A stone stairway is famous at the village for containing more than 300 steps and being carved out of the land itself. Then, the village of Banthanti graces the trekking path from where the views of the Annapurna Mountains are magnificent. Rhododendron trees and azalea flowers ornament the trekking trail, making hiking through the landscape very pleasant. Pine and oak woods make the landscape verdant and lively. The trekking trail finally reaches Ghorepani. Overnight stay at the Guesthouse at Ghorepani, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 05: Hike Up To Poon Hill And Onto Tadapani (2,610m/8,560ft), Duration: 7-8 Hours
This is a highlighted day of the trek. You will be waking up at dawn early in the morning and hiking to the vantage point of Poon Hill from where the panoramic views of the entire Annapurna mountain massif can be seen. The sunrise view from the vantage point of Poon Hill is a breath-taking affair! Peaks like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri and more can be seen from Poon Hill. After spending memorable moments at the vantage point enjoying the mountain panorama, we will walk to Tadapani, which takes about five hours. Tadapani is a beautiful village set at the height of 2610 meters. Overnight stay at the Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 06: Tadapani To Ghandruk (1,950m/6,396ft), Duration: 3 Hours
It takes about 3 hours from Tadapani to get to Ghandruk. On the way to Ghandruk, we will walk down to Bhaise Kharka; it takes about 2 hours of walking to reach Ghandruk from Bhaise Kharka. Ghandruk is a charming village that is majorly occupied by Gurung people. The village offers great vistas of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Hiunchuli Himal and the Machhapuchhre Peak. Overnight stay at the Guesthouse at Ghandruk, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 07: Ghandruk To Pokhara (910m/2,984ft), Duration: 5 Hours
From Ghandruk, we will walk downhill for approximately 3 hours and reach at a setting that has a few tea houses. We will also pass by the settlement of Birethanti. From Birethanti, we will walk ahead to Nayapul from where we will drive back to Pokhara. The trek back is a great way to take in the landscapes and the villages along the way. The natural terrain of the land is quite stunning and it is filled with tranquil moments and a serene atmosphere. Overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara. Breakfast included.
Day 08: Pokhara To Kathmandu
You will drive back to Kathmandu today. The drive back offers the same beautiful view and sights of the landscape and the hilly terrain, with winding roads that are cut into the side of the hills and open gaping valleys with deep river gorges and distant mountain views. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu. Breakfast included.
Day 09: Farewell
Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be dropped off at the airport by one of Yeti’s representatives from where you will depart.
