Jiri to everest base camp trek
Trekking from Jiri to Everest Base Camp is breathtaking and requires good walking experience and good physical condition. The early stages pass through numerous interesting villages giving insights into village life seen only by a relatively small number of trekkers each year. It then enters the famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar and continues past the Tengboche Buddhist Monastery and Khunde Khumjung etc. Settlements are of mixed ethnic groups: Brahman, Chhetri, Magar, Tamang in the low land and Sherpa in highlands of Solukhumbu Everest region. The trek ends ends with panoramic views of Everest 8848m, Cho Oyu 8201m, Lhotse 8516m, Makalu 8463m and Ama Dablam 6456m. Most people heading to the Solu-Khumbu region are intent only on getting a close-up glimpse of Mount Everest and often take a plane into Lukla, however, the trail from Jiri to Namche adds some interesting walking, an opportunity to acclimatize and insights into village life that would otherwise be missed.
Trekking from Jiri to Namche, while not long on Himalaya views, does cross throughout many interesting local villages that are now hiking by a little numeral of travelers every year. - Day 01: Kathmandu to Jiri (1955m.) by local bus it takes ten hours/car/van five to six hours drive. Jiri is one of the popular city of eastern part of Nepal where local people shopping necessary equipment for them.
- Day 02: Trek to Shivalaya (1780m.) it takes five to six hours. Trail to Shivalaya via Chitre (2030m.), Mali (2220m.). First day walk really nice between local vollage, tea shop, lodge/hotel.
- Day 03: Trek to Kinja (1630m.) it takes six to seven hours walk via Deurali (2480m.), Bhandar (2190m.), Chaulakharka (2010m.) & Kinja. This small city pretty nice close to river (we call khola it means smaller than river).
- Day 04: Trek to Junbesi (2680m.) it takes six to seven hours walk via Sete (3020m.), Goyum (3220m.) this day you walk between rhododrandon forest & cross Lamjura pass (3530m.) highest than Namche Bazar (3440m.).
- Day 05: Trek to Nunthala (2330m.) it takes six to seven hours walk via Phurteng (3040m.), Salung (2960m.), Ringmu (2720m.), Taksindu (2930m.) & final destination to Nunthala it is nice day where you can see local village, monastery, stupa which is memory for your holiday in Nepal.
- Day 06: Trek to Bubsa (2430m.) six hours walk. Trail to next destination steep down to small river, cross the bridge walk up to Jubhing (1680m.), Kharikhola (2040m.) & Bubsa dada where you can see beautiful landscape of Kharikhola & so many other area too.
- Day 07: Trek to Surke (2290m.) it takes six to seven hours walk. This day walk between small forest, Karila (3145m.) after here narrow trail but is flat, Paiya (2730m.) it is nice place for lunch & continue to Surke.
- Day 08: Trek to Manjo (2850m.) it takes six hours walk via Cheplung (2660m.) here other travelers from Lukla who take flight from Kathmandu to Lukla & walk start down to Cheplung (2660m.), Ghat village (2592m.), Thado Kosi (2580m.) lodhe/hotel till Phakding.
- Day 09: Trek to Namche (3440m.) it takes six hours walk. This day you cross three bridges in Jorsalle village (2740m.), Everest national park check point after third bridge steep up until Namche Bazar.
- Day 10: Acclimatization in Namche and sightseeing in local village, national park museum, Everest panoramic view from syangboche and down to hotel in the afternoon.
- Day 11: Trek to Tengboche (3867m.) it takes five hours walk. All the way from Kyanjuma (3550m.) where you can see close view of Thamserku mountain (6618m.) & continue to Phungi Thanga (3250m.) stop for lunch either drink & steep up to Tengboche.
- Day 12: Trek to Dingboche (4410m.) it takes five an half to six hours walk via Deboche (3820m.), Pangboche (3930m.), Somare (4010m.) & Orsho (4190m.) final destination is Dingboche.
- Day 13: Trek to Acclimatization in Dingboche but in the morning after breakfast hiking up to Chhukung (4730m.) close view of Island Peak (6200m.), south face of Mt. Lotse (8516m.), different view of Mt. Amadaplam (6814m.), rest in Chhukung for a while & down to Dingboche.
- Day 14: Trek to Lobuche (4910m.) it takes six hours walk via Thukla (4620m.) stop here for tea/coffee after here steep up memory place on the top & path is pretty easy to final destination Lobuche.
- Day 15: Trek to Gorek Shep (5185m.) it takes three to three an half hours walk almost on desert path and old glacier too where you can see Everest (8848m.) top and other mountain too rest of the time walk around Gorek Shep or continue to Everest Base Camp & back to Gorek Shep it takes five hours walk.
- Day 16: Get up early morning climb up to Kalapattar for sunrise view on Mt Everest as well as several mountain view from there & down to hotel take breakfast trek continue to Pheriche (4240m.) it takes six to seven hours walk.
- Day 17: Trek to Tengboche (3867m.) it takes four hours walk via Orsho (4190m.), Somare (4010m.), Pangboche (3930m.) & Deboche (3820m.) where you can visit monastery & up to Tengboche.
- Day 18: Trek to Namche (3440m.) five hours walk. Steep down till Phungi Thanga (3250m.) & steep up to Kyanjuma (3550m.) and path is pretty easy until Namche Bazar.
- Day 19: Trek to Phakding (2610m.) four to five hours walk. Steep down till third of Jorsalle (2740m.) & walk between local village, lodge/hotel.
- Day 20: Trek to Lukla (2850m.) three hours walk. Via Ghat (2592m.), Thado Khosi (2560m.) Cheplung (2660m.) & steep up till Lukla (2850m.) twenty minute.
- Day 21: Morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla thirty minute & finigh your trek in Himalaya.
